Monday
A leisurely morning rearranging our bags for our flight to Dublin in the evening. Then we had our last lunch with Sue and Malcolm and a wander around one of the little shops.
We headed off to Montpellier mid afternoon intending to have a look around but there was so much traffic and we weren’t getting anywhere so we asked them to drop us at the airport earlier than planned so they could get out of the hot car and the traffic. It was sad to leave them as we’ve had such a lovely time. Thank you for the memories and for your patience with the walking wounded and thank you Malcolm driving us around.
At least the airport was cool. We filled in some time reading our books and then discovered that our plane was running about an hour and a half late due to storms somewhere earlier in the day.
Eventually we were on the plane and the pilot announced that our departure would be delayed by up to an hour.
Phillip emailed the car hire people to let them know and they rang back to let us know they would be shut and to catch a taxi. Then there was a huge queue for taxis so we eventually got to bed at 3am (4 am French time). It was a VERY long day.
